Widely called the Prince of Traditional Garba. Born in 1986 into a musical family — his father is the Gujarati singer and composer Sanjay Oza — he trained in Hindustani classical music and performed as a child artist in stage shows, films and albums. A State Award-winning playback singer, he is unusual in the circuit for holding an M.B.B.S. and working in music therapy. His reputation rests on keeping garba traditional: he has built his career on the authentic form rather than its heavily commercialised versions, and has represented India at international garba festivals with thousands of live performances behind him.
